Greetings ~

I built the large 1:300 scale Titanic from Academy Minicraft way back in 1998. I liked the model. It was a real job as there was no die cut parts in those day and the model had to be painted.
Now I wanted a smaller version for a Titanic wall I am planning to put in our dinning room. I was at Hobby Lobby back in July of 2024 and found one. Also made by Academy, this kit is in 1:700 scale. It's a plastic kit but comes molded in the proper colors.
The instructions says "no painting needed". However, you CAN paint it if you wish. Also, even though this kit is a "snap tight" type of model kit, I'm telling you, you had better use plastic glue to hold the parts together. I've never seen a snap together kit that was ever worth a crap. They all need glued.
The box was fairly heavy and I figured it would pose a good challenge for me as the older kit had done. But when I got it home and opened the box, I was shocked! It looked like some of the parts were missing. But actually, they aren't. I checked the parts list and everything is there. There just isn't much to it. So it appears now that this should not be very hard to build at all. So, let's see how it goes.

NOTE

When I get my Titanic wall done in the dinning room, I will post photos of it at the end of this blog. Check back later on for those.
This kit is the 2007 issue.
